Microsoft 365 Backup Singapore

Microsoft 365 backup is the line on the shared-responsibility sheet Microsoft leaves to you: it keeps the service up, you keep the data. Rezolva copies every mailbox, drive, site and channel nightly, holds it outside, and restores any item to any day.

The tenant line of our offsite backup family. Choosing plans? Start at Microsoft 365 licensing or business email; if the mail is already there, read on.

Microsoft 365 Backup — the responsibility sheet, line by line

Microsoft 365 backup starts with reading the sheet honestly: Microsoft keeps the service and the hardware; the data in your tenant is your line.

SWIPE THE BOUNDARY — MICROSOFT’S SIDE, THEN YOURS

Six scenarios still standing on Microsoft’s side

Lines one and two are bolted down: uptime and hardware are Microsoft’s and always will be. The other six are tokens, and every one of them is drawn on Microsoft’s side until you hold a copy. Move a line in the sheet at the top of the page and its token crosses the boundary.

Line 04 · OneDrive · Overwritten last month

OneDrive Backup — the file that was overwritten, not deleted

OneDrive backup is the line most offices think is already ticked: the deleted file comes back from the recycle bin; the overwritten file and the synced ransomware do not.

Microsoft keeps30 days after deletion
Your copy keepsEvery version, any day

OneDrive backup is misunderstood because OneDrive already looks like one: cloud file, version history, recycle bin. All three are attached to the file, so an overwrite or a deleted account takes them too.

A OneDrive backup taken by Rezolva is a separate nightly object outside the tenant; Monday’s version survives Tuesday’s save.

  • Overwritten, not deleted is the OneDrive backup request native tools answer worst.
  • An encrypted file syncs like a good one; the night-before copy is clean.

The save that overwrites: the OneDrive backup question is whether Monday’s version exists on Friday.

Monv12

Tuev13

A colleague pastes over the formulas; v13 is now the file.

Wedv13

Sync pushes v13 everywhere; v12 is history inside the file.

Friasked

Finance asks for Monday’s; history helps only if the file still exists.

Line 04 · What version history cannot do
  • It counts versions, not days; a busy file rolls past its limit in a week.
  • Files Restore rolls one drive back 30 days, never the library.
  • Once the user is deleted the drive follows, 30 days by default.
Line 03 · Workloads · Five rows, one night

Microsoft 365 Backup Service — what a nightly copy holds

A Microsoft 365 backup service is a list of workloads, not a licence tier: what we copy nightly, and the native window each row beats.

Row one: the Microsoft 365 backup service copies mail, calendar and contacts together.

Line 03 · The restore unit

A Microsoft 365 backup service is judged by the smallest thing it can put back: one message, one file beside its current version, one site under a new name.

Entra ID, Planner and Forms are not in the nightly copy; the sheet says so rather than implying a Microsoft 365 backup service covers everything.

Cloud Backup Microsoft 365 — the four ways a mailbox disappears

Cloud backup Microsoft 365 tenants need is sized by how mailboxes leave, not by storage in use; four ways account for nearly every request.

Microsoft keepsDeleted mailbox: 30 days, then gone

Way 01Tap to flip

The leaver

The licence is removed to save the fee; the 30-day clock starts.

Native outcome

Day 31: the mailbox is gone, supplier threads with it.

With a backup

Restored from last night’s copy to a shared mailbox, or exported, years later.

Way 02Tap to flip

The admin clean-up

A project site is deleted in a tidy-up; nobody asks until day 94.

Native outcome

Both recycle bins have expired; the tenant cannot bring it back.

With a backup

The site as it stood on any night, restored to a new name.

Way 03Tap to flip

The sync

Ransomware on one laptop encrypts the synced folder; OneDrive uploads it all.

Native outcome

Files Restore rolls one drive back; the libraries are separate jobs.

With a backup

One clean point in time; every drive and site restored in one job.

Way 04Tap to flip

The legal question

An auditor asks for 2019 mail with one supplier; no hold was configured.

Native outcome

Retention covers only what existed after it was switched on.

With a backup

The copy holds the mailbox as it stood every night since day one.

Line 05 · The copy · Nightly, via API

Acronis Microsoft 365 Backup — how the copy is taken and where it lives

Acronis Microsoft 365 backup takes the copy through the tenant’s own APIs and puts it where the tenant cannot reach.

Line 09 · The invoice · yourco.com.sgDraft · per user / month
Microsoft billsRezolva bills
Standard seat

Microsoft’s own Microsoft 365 Backup is an add-on billed per gigabyte stored per month, so the invoice moves with the data rather than with the headcount.

S$7per user / month

One person’s Exchange mailbox, OneDrive, SharePoint share and Teams, copied nightly, with thirty days of points to restore from.

Extended retention

A retention policy holds content in place for an auditor; holding is not restoring, and a hold will not put last March’s spreadsheet back on a desk.

S$9per user / month

Twelve months of restore points on the same seat, for the tenant whose auditor asks for a date instead of a document.

Minimum tenant

Nothing to size and nothing to agree: the native add-on starts at the first gigabyte, and the shortfall only shows up on the day of the request.

10 usersminimum tenant

Below ten people the console work costs more than the seats do, so ten users is where a managed Microsoft 365 backup service starts.

Restore requests

A support ticket restores nothing. The admin centre gives you the windows Microsoft publishes, and the 94-day site is still gone.

Includedany number

Every restore we run is inside the seat price, whatever its size: no per-item fee, no per-restore fee, no call-out.

Cloud backup Microsoft 365 offices buy by the seat, because a mailbox is the unit an office can actually count and the gigabytes behind it are ours to size. The same seat rate sits on our Acronis Singapore and Google Workspace backup pages, because it is one seat sold through three doors, and Acronis Office 365 backup pricing is quoted the same way whichever door you came in.

Indicative bands from the current Singapore market, 7 September 2026 — your quote is fixed once the seats in the tenant are counted.Prices exclude GST.

Frequently asked questions

Microsoft keeps the service available and replicates its own storage; it does not keep a point-in-time copy of your data for you. Its own Microsoft 365 Backup add-on is a paid product priced per gigabyte stored per month.

Acronis Office 365 backup pricing is per user per month: every mailbox with its OneDrive, SharePoint and Teams share is one seat. We quote it fixed, so Acronis Office 365 backup pricing on your invoice is the user list you signed.

A deleted user's mailbox stays recoverable for 30 days, then it is permanently removed; items deleted inside a live mailbox sit in Recoverable Items for 14 days. Beyond those windows the only copy is your Microsoft 365 backup.

No. OneDrive is sync with version history; it copies an overwrite, a deletion and an encrypted file everywhere. A OneDrive backup is a separate nightly object outside the tenant, which restores Monday's version on Friday.

For ten users or fewer, with a Windows server and someone who checks it, Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365 Community Edition is a real backup. It stops being enough at the eleventh user, or when its owner leaves.

Acronis backup for Office 365 puts the copy in Acronis cloud storage, outside your tenant, encrypted before it leaves, with an immutable option a taken-over admin account cannot delete. Acronis Microsoft 365 backup lets us choose the storage region with you, in writing.

Yes. One message, calendar entry or contact is restored to its folder, to another mailbox, or exported, without touching the rest; it is the most common Microsoft 365 backup request we handle.

Channel conversations, chats and their files are in the nightly copy, exportable per person or per channel; live calls and meeting recordings are not. Your sheet lists exactly what the copy holds.
